I wanted to say Happy New Year!
But that couldn’t happen on the What’sApp, last night!
One of the largest Social Media powerhouses What’sApp, had hit a technical glitch, affecting users across Europe, the US and Canada.
Users were unable to respond to existing chats, Share new ones or use the app’s web service on one of the busiest days of the year.
Social Media sites and apps see an increase of use during the holidays, with the largest spikes always coinciding with specific days, Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Years Eve, of users sending happy thoughts, well wishes, resolutions, congratulations, photos and more.
A spokesman for the app told MailOnline: “Some people have had trouble accessing WhatsApp for a short period today. We’re working to restore service back to 100% for everyone and we apologize for the inconvenience.”
The service outage didn’t reach every single user, but did end-up affecting even more with the second outage. The service went down around 5:00 EST, was initially restored, but soon crashed again. Most users have mentioned a spinning wheel and the word connecting.
The service is now restored, so go get the social connecting that was missed on. Last night, NYE.
